Welcome to the Poweshiek County Fair

The first county fair was held in 1854. The current fairgrounds was constructed in 1986. The Poweshiek County Agricultural Association was organized in 1941 and renamed “fair” association in 1991. The 9 member board oversees the day to day business of the fairgrounds along with organizing the annual Poweshiek County Fair. Association membership dues are $5 per person 18 years old or older payable as of the last Friday of August of the current year payable by 4:30 pm. Dues must be paid to the fair office or postmarked no later than the last Friday of August of the current year payables.

Bagged bedding will not be available for purchase during the Poweshiek County  Fair.  Exhibitors are responsible for providing their own bedding.  Bulk bedding for beef and bottle calves will be provided as usual.
