The first county fair was held in 1854.  The current fairgrounds was constructed in 1986. The Poweshiek County Agricultural Association was organized in 1941 and renamed “fair” association in 1991.  The 9 member board oversees the day to day business of the fairgrounds along with organizing the annual Poweshiek County 4H/FFA Fair. Association membership dues are $5 per person 18 years old or older payable as of the last day of August of the current year (8/28/15) payable by 4:30 pm.  Dues must be paid to the fair office or postmarked no later than 8/28/15.   Click here to download membership form.
